Three Days

I imagine an older couple sitting here watching the sunset.

My view from the pool.

Hanging with Lucile Ball.

Dodger's in action while we ate dinner.

Lechon Slider (SOOOO GOOD)

Night swimming views.

This week my husband and I took three days off from work and headed to the desert. Our destination this time, Palm Springs. We had no plans but to lay by the pool, swim, eat, sleep and repeat. This was probably the first time we had a relaxing getaway. Most of the time when we go on vacations or little getaways, we normally consume our days with sightseeing and trying to see the most of a city. This time however was different. We've been to Palm Springs in the past and the heat was in the triple digits so there was no way we were doing anything but being in the pool. Something I love about Palm Springs is that they have lots of restaurants to choose from and not your typical franchise restaurants.  So we did a lot of eating, but I have no regrets. I feel so refreshed, relaxed and just glad we had those three days to ourselves.

Tea Time, My Time.

A couple of months ago my sister purchased a Groupon for a tea house in Seal Beach and it was going to expire this past Saturday. We finally decided to use up the voucher and enjoy an afternoon tea. I'm not sure why it took us so long to redeem the voucher, but I'm glad we did. The place we went to was McKenna's Tea Cottage and it was just the cutest. In addition to the seating area, it had a cute little shop area where you can buy all sorts of goodies like candy, accessories and tea related items.

Anyways, it was nice to do something with my mom and sister. I always feel like I'm rushing my time to meet my husband for some sort of outing when I'm with them. So this time I told my husband not to make any plans because I was taking my time. I need to do this more often. I constantly feel like I'm in a hurry or being rushed, I don't even know why because I don't have kids.

Runyon Canyon

The following pictures are from the Mulholland Scenic Corridor, near Runyon Canyon.

I woke up at 5:30 a.m. on a Sunday to go on a hike,  this is very unlike me.  I LOVE to sleep! Runyon Canyon is a popular hiking trail in Los Angeles and has a tiny parking, so if you want to a parking space you need to beat the crowds and arrive extremely early. This hike was not as difficult as I expected, there was only one section that was very challenging because it was up hill and I honestly felt like I was struggling to breathe. I felt like I I had forgotten how to breathe and needed some sort of breathing tutorial! Once I reached the top I felt accomplished and like throwing up a little bit but I survived and the rest felt like a breeze.

p.s. Sorry for another hiking post, I'll try to mix things up.

Last Week: Las Vegas

Last week after the Superbowl my husband and I headed to Las Vegas! It was our first mini vacation for 2017. It was a last minute trip but it was quite perfect.  We arrived after the Superbowl crowd had vacated and it almost felt like we had Vegas to ourselves.

On this trip we stayed at the Treasure Island. We dined at the Wynn buffet. OMG you guys! This is the prettiest places I have ever ate at. It is a little pricey but it's so beautiful, I recommend you try it a least once just to get it out of your system. We did a little gambling but didn't win, oh well! We took a long nap which felt so good. Your probably thinking "who takes naps in Vegas?!?!" Ha Ha! I know that sounds like something old people do, but honestly we felt tired and we thought that this time instead of walking up and down the strip we should rest and enjoy the comfortable hotel bed.

To end our mini vacation, we went to the Michael Jackson One show at the Mandalay Bay. This show was amazing!! As a kid of the 80's, I grew up listening to Michael Jackson and it brought back so many nice memories. There were so many moments in the show where I just wanted to jump out of my seat and start dancing. I didn't, but I could see that other spectators felt the same way.  So whether you like Michael Jackson or not, I strongly recommend you check out this show because it's well worth the money and time. If you can't watch the show I recommend you visit the Mandalay Bay and check out the theater and shop where the show is held because they have some awesome memorabilia.

P.s. The lens for my Nikon camera broke! I'm debating whether to buy a new lens or buy a new camera, so in the meantime I'm using my iphone for pictures. I apologize for the poor quality pictures.
