Giving Up?

Do you guys ever feel like giving up? Lately, I've been feeling like giving up on this blog. I've been thinking, what do I want out of this blog? Why am I doing this? Is this going anywhere? Am I even good at blogging? I started this blog back in September 2014, and I do enjoy the snapping of the photographs and sharing some of my thoughts here.  This blog has been sort of like a diary for me, a very public diary. Sometimes I feel that if I want this blog to succeed I need to be more active, post on a regular basis and be very active on social media, which honestly I'm not. I get so caught up in my daily tasks and forget to post daily activities like what I'm drinking or eating. And then I wonder, what type of success would I like to achieve from this blog?

I've noticed that with anything, I always get thoughts in my head and start to second guess myself and feel like I suck, I should just quit. For instance, I've always had an interest in sewing and I always end up giving up mid way through a project. I end up giving into my thoughts and stop pursuing an interest. I think this blog has been the longest extra curricular activity/project I've ever pursued. I have lots of ideas for this blog but the execution of those ideas is lacking. Why do I give into the negative thoughts instead of the positive ones?

Another Loss

Can you believe May is here??? April was supposed to be a month of relief and relaxation but it was nothing but that.  Work was so busy and stressful, which lead to some extreme teeth grinding at night, which lead to a broken tooth! Wait it doesn't end there! Dealing with the major tooth ache I had to rush to the hospital for something unexpected. Something unexpected yet expected at the same time. My father's mother, my grandmother had suffered a massive stroke. This was not the first stroke she had suffered but there was no coming back from this one.

My grandmother was a single mother of eight. She loved all her children and always made family unity a her main goal.  My father was very close to his mother and when my dad was alive they would talk on the phone every single day,  multiple times a day! Because of their close relationship my grandmother was a big part of our lives.

My grandmother was very funny and knew how to tell a great joke, something she shared with my dad. After my dad died she had a stroke and was not really herself anymore. Losing her first son made her fall into a depression and this did not help her recovery. When all this happened we really made an effort to visit her on a weekly basis but with time we slowly stopped. My visits stopped mainly because every visit made me feel very sad.  It was very selfish of me but I think during that first year I had to be a little selfish to make it through the days, weeks and months.  In retrospect, I regret it.

I can't turn back the hands of time and all I can do is move forward. I live with so many regrets and I will probably never be able to let go of them. All the pretty memories I have with my loved ones help me get through the days, weeks, months and years.

What's the point?

The big day of love is over. Valentine's day this year landed on a Sunday. When you work in an office, Valentines starts on Friday. It starts on Friday because some of your coworkers receive flowers on this day. So whenever this holiday lands on a weekend Valentines always starts on Friday. I know this because I've worked in an office environment for about 15 years and have plenty of years to observe this. Every time I wonder why? 樂

Why would your love one want to send you flowers on the eve of the holiday or in some years up to two days in advance? Do significant others  feel like its necessary to demonstrate their love towards you in public otherwise it doesn't count? Do they feel like its necessary for their partners to have something to show off to their colleagues so they don't feel left out? Do they get a better deal if they buy in advance?

Maybe all of those scenarios apply, but guys, thanks to social media you can show off regardless of when Valentine's day lands on. 

Color of the Month-July

When I think of July I think of Independence day, the American flag, fireworks and barbecues. So it's no wonder the Color of the Month for July is Red!

Some of these photos were taken on an iPhone and others were taken on a Nikon camera. Now, when  picking pictures for The Color of Month post I don't have any rules, for instance the shades of color can vary and are not limited to a specific shade of red.
