Our family vacation consisted of traveling to Arizona and Nevada, but our main destination was the Grand Canyon. It was the first time for all of us and it wont be the last. We reached the Grand Canyon around 4:30 p.m. just in time to take the sunset tour. I don't think I've ever seen so many rainbows in my life, it seemed like everyday we saw a rainbow.
We were fortunate enough to arrive at a time when the sun was still out, this allowed us to make a couple of stops and enjoy the sun glowing against the beautiful canyon. Oh and the clouds! Oh my! The clouds were amazing!
Towards the end of the tour, light showers moved in so we headed back to the lodge and we made our way into the gift shop for a little shopping.
The next morning we woke up early and came right back to the canyon for a desert tour. To our surprise we were greeted with another beautiful rainbow and some beautiful clouds.
Unfortunately for us, those beautiful clouds moved in rapidly, brought in the rain and fog. Before we knew it the entire canyon was covered. The fog was so thick not a single peak was visible.
The tour was cut short because the rain would not stop and the fog was too thick to see anything. At first we were a little bummed that we did not enjoy our second day of sightseeing but as we walked through the parking lot we noticed the various state license plates on all the cars and noticed how so many people had driven from Pennsylvania, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, etc. We realized that we were quite fortunate to live relatively close to such a beautiful place and that at least we got a glimpse of God's beautiful creation.
Sharing some more of God's beautiful creations.
We left the Grand Canyon and headed towards our next destination, Nevada. On our way out look at what we saw on the side of the road!
Next week I'll be sharing the Nevada portion of our vacation, hope you guys come back and visit.
