Looking Ahead

 Everyday there are new horror stories of things that are happening around the world, that make me wonder, how far will things go? Will the current administration continue to lead us to destruction or will someone put a stop to him? Will the earth stop shaking and will the skies stop raining? Will countries stop fighting? Perhaps, or perhaps things will continue to worsen. Nobody knows, but I'd like to think that things will change, that there is hope, that all the ugly will end. I like to look ahead, seems like that's all I can do these days. 

Arizona, I'm Falling in Love with You!

Two weeks ago, my husband and I woke up at 5:30 am and packed up our truck. We drove to my moms house and picked up my mom and sister. by 6:30 a.m. we were on our way. Our destination, Arizona! I know, I know Arizona doesn't sound like a vacation destination but my uncle lives there and his home is like a mini resort. 

This trip we had no really plans except for watch a baseball game and hang out with my uncle. We took a morning walk before the heat rolled in.

We swam most of the days and in the evenings we would enjoy a delicious dinner . Most nights we went for a night swim as well. One night we went to see The Glass Castle, so good and made me cry. 

The day before our departure we went to see the hole in the rock. We got a little lost and went to a botanical garden by accident. Because we were avoiding the heat we didn't go into the park and just asked for information of where this hole in the rock was at. We all agreed next time we would make sure to visit the botanical garden. 

After a few left turns, we found the famous Hole in the Rock! You guys this is so cool! I honestly didn't think it would be as big as it is. This pictures honestly don't do it justice! 

Across from the hole in the rock there is a beautiful park! Aghhh you guys, I wanted to spend all day here taking pictures, but alas the heat go to us. 

I think this is my third or fourth time visiting Arizona and I can honestly say every time I go I fall a little more in love!

This week my husband and I took three days off from work and headed to the desert. Our destination this time, Palm Springs. We had no plans but to lay by the pool, swim, eat, sleep and repeat. This was probably the first time we had a relaxing getaway. Most of the time when we go on vacations or little getaways, we normally consume our days with sightseeing and trying to see the most of a city. This time however was different. We've been to Palm Springs in the past and the heat was in the triple digits so there was no way we were doing anything but being in the pool. Something I love about Palm Springs is that they have lots of restaurants to choose from and not your typical franchise restaurants.  So we did a lot of eating, but I have no regrets. I feel so refreshed, relaxed and just glad we had those three days to ourselves.

When my husband and I got married we were in escrow to buy our first home. We used our savings to buy our home, throw a little back yard wedding and buy our furniture for our home. Since we both lived at home with our parents, we had nothing to bring with us but our TVs, lots of Cd's, DVDs  and my huge shoe collection! Which by the way, when my husband saw all the shoes I owned he banned me from buying any shoes for like a year! It was rough and lets just say I had to sneak some shoes into my house. Okay, that's besides the point.  What I was getting at was that when we got married we had a lot of expenses, so there was definitely no budget for a honeymoon. One of the promises my husband made me when we got married was that in a year we would go on a honeymoon. My husband is a man of his word, and he delivered. Upon the anniversary of our first year of marriage, we went to Hawaii! Today, I 'm sharing some pictures of that trip. We stayed on the big island and were amazed of all the beautiful things this Island has to offer.

Dreary Paradise

A new year is upon us! Welcome 2017! I know, I know I'm 10 days late. 

You guys, California is finally having a real winter!! We've had rain almost on a weekly basis and its been cold (for California standards). Anyways, its a new year with so many changes upon us, saying good bye to a president and experiencing a new one that scares most of us. I don't know how the next four years will be but all I can do is hope for the best. 

When the unbelievable became reality, I'm not going to lie, I was angry and in disbelief. As the days and weeks have gone by I've sort of accepted it (insert eye rolling emoji). I think to myself, it's their turn. When you're a kid your parents teach you about sharing and caring. They teach you that everyone gets their turn and you need to be respectful and let your sibling or friend play with the toy for the same amount of time you got to play with it. So that's what I tell myself, it's their turn. 

 Hey you never know, maybe he'll get impeached.
