I was planning of writing a post about the
struggles of motherhood, but I didn’t want to sound like a Debbie Downer since
my last post was about mourning. I was at my moms house the other day and she
had these beautiful Trader Joe's flowers, which got me thinking of Spring! Oh
my Spring is around the corner and I’m not sure I am ready to let go of winter.
I have been craving a rainy, cloudy day and I don’t know why. This is a first for me. I generally enjoy
summer and sunny days. So, I am quite surprised. I’ve been noticing in the past
year or so I have been changing my thoughts and feelings towards a lot of
things. Another example, I have disliked eggs my entire life. I’ve tried to eat them
because of their nutritional value, but I never could. However, recently I
think I can tolerate eggs. It’s the strangest thing. I’m really confused with
myself. What other things will I like that I disliked before or vice versa? Is this me maturing?

How I Spent My Thanksgiving Break
I've been very busy lately and I have neglected my little blog. I spent about 90 hours of my life dedicated to something that will bring me nothing but the feeling of breaking up with friends. What have I been up to you might ask? Oh you know, binge watching a show on Netflix and getting fat. I've been really busy binge watching Mad Men. Yep, a show that ended in 2015. Guys, why didn't I jump on the Mad Men band wagon when it was airing? I'm low key in love with Don Draper and Roger Sterling. Must now watching anything with them.
For real though, my husband and I got caught up in the Mad Men world and forgot about everything else. Today on my last day of thanksgiving break, I realized I probably could have spent my 4 days off doing something more useful. I have no regrets though, I enjoyed every episode. It was interesting to see how the work place was in the '50s & 60's and how women were treated in the workforce. Aside from Don Draper I think my favorite character was Roger Sterling, he always had something funny and inappropriate to say. I enjoyed the costumes, story lines, and characters of this show. While I'm still trying to digest the ending, I have an over all happy feeling with how the show ended. Would I have done something differently? perhaps, but that smile at the end made me think everything would be okay.
What do I do now with the rest of my life?

Tea Time, My Time.
A couple of months ago my sister purchased a Groupon for a tea house in Seal Beach and it was going to expire this past Saturday. We finally decided to use up the voucher and enjoy an afternoon tea. I'm not sure why it took us so long to redeem the voucher, but I'm glad we did. The place we went to was McKenna's Tea Cottage and it was just the cutest. In addition to the seating area, it had a cute little shop area where you can buy all sorts of goodies like candy, accessories and tea related items.
Anyways, it was nice to do something with my mom and sister. I always feel like I'm rushing my time to meet my husband for some sort of outing when I'm with them. So this time I told my husband not to make any plans because I was taking my time. I need to do this more often. I constantly feel like I'm in a hurry or being rushed, I don't even know why because I don't have kids.

Sea Creatures in the Desert
I went to the desert and saw sea creatures! I did, I did! Last week my husband, sis and mom packed up our truck and headed to Scottsdale, Arizona. Our itinerary for this trip was hang out by the pool and chill at my uncles house. While there, my uncle told us about a new aquarium that just opened up and was next to a butterfly sanctuary we've visited in our previous trip. You can read more about that here. Since we didn't have anything to do but chill, we decided to pay the aquarium a visit. Its so so new that they were still putting some of the finishing touches like sign decals on the walls. We saw little bit of everything including sharks, alligators, turtles, penguins, piranhas, sting rays, etc, etc. Also they have a room that moves! Think of it as a carousel! That was really cool, relaxing and a little bit scary at the same time. If you find yourself in Scottsdale, the aquarium and the butterfly sanctuary are worth visiting. For information on the aquarium click here.
Be sure to start the tour in the bathroom, you'll be amazed!

Flower Mart Finds
A couple of weeks ago my mom, sister and I made our way to the flower mart in Downtown Los Angeles. My mom was in search for flowers for a new vase she had bought. My mom bought some tropical flowers that reminded me of summer. I kept insisting on the sunflowers because they were so beautiful and ideal for the season. My mom wasn't really feeling the sunflowers, but I was so I bought them for my home. Aren't they just beautiful? I put them in my patio and they stayed alive for a little more than a week.
P.s. It's a short work week!
YAY!!!
I hope you guys have a beautiful long weekend!

Butterfly Wonderland
I was on vacation this past week, for this vacation we decided to do a family vacation. Our destination was the Grand Canyon, in Arizona. My husband, mom, sister and myself all headed to Scottsdale first. My mother's brother lives in Scottsdale so we figured we'd make a stop there for two days and then continue on our journey.
Our stay in Scottsdale was short, two nights only. We mainly hung out at my uncles house by the pool, went to a few consignment shops for a light shopping and went to the Butterfly Wonderland! You guys, I've never seen so many beautiful butterflies in my life! I honestly didn't think there were so many varieties. So if you like butterflies or even if you don't like butterflies I think you will enjoy this post.
The colors, sizes, and patterns are all so beautiful. I honestly don't know which one is my favorite. Do you have a favorite? Let me know in the comments section. If you find yourself in Scottsdale you should check out the Butterfly Wonderland, its small but very informative and beautiful. I'm sharing a link to the Butterfly Wonderland website here.
I'll be sharing more of my vacation this week so I hope you come back.
